Constitution - The Game

This board game is intended for children aged 8 and up and its main objectives are to reinforce democratic literacy, educate for civic participation, and celebrate the values ​​of the Constitution of the Portuguese Republic.

Conceived by the Beira Serra association and Triciclo Editora, with the help of over 190 children, fun is guaranteed with this journey through advancing and retreating squares. Throughout the game, the special squares also have much to teach all participants: the right to education, culture and health, freedom of the press, environmental protection, free elections, the organization of political power, the right to assembly and demonstration… In the end, after answering questions, doing charades and forming coalitions, whoever collects the most carnations wins.

This game was created as part of the Civitas Project, funded by the Active Citizens Fund through the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Bissaya Barreto Foundation, and benefited from the scientific consultancy of the Higher School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco and the oversight of the Assembly of the Republic.
